Dr. Hartmann specializes in trauma-informed psychotherapy, helping individuals heal from past adversity and lead more self-directed lives. She completed her doctorate in clinical psychology at Adelphi University and her pre-doctoral internship at NYP/Columbia University Irving Medical Center where she worked with adults struggling with PTSD, mood and anxiety disorders, and adjusting to complex chronic illnesses. In addition, she has held clinical externships at Mt. Sinai Beth Israel’s psychiatry department and the New School for Social Research’s college counseling center. Prior to her doctoral training in clinical psychology, she worked for many years in media and publishing in New York, and holds a BA from Sarah Lawrence College and an MFA from Columbia University in writing. She is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Center Psychology Group where she is receiving specialized training in EMDR therapy.
